The Negri vineyards, situated in the Serradenari cru of La Morra, occupying the coveted position of the highest point in Barolo with an elevation of approximately 1700 feet above sea level. Winemaker, Giuilia Negri, studied management and biology and comes from a family of vintners who have been producing wine for over 150 years. At the young age of 24, Negri began taking over the family business and was dedicated to making terroir driven Barolos. Interested in the “garagiste” style of winemaking, extremely small production with low intervention, Negri set out to find her own unique winemaking style with her dedication and unwavering passion earning her the nickname ‘Barologirl’. Negri extracts the personality of Nebiolo in her wine, creating fresh, vibrant Barolo, with intense acidity that exemplifies the regions cool climate. When asked “What is your philosophy?” Negri’s response was “It's not my philosophy. It’s Serradenari that makes the wine and my aim is: I have a duty, that is to bring Serradenari in this glass.”
