100% Chardonnay from Saint-Aubin by Julien Altaber. Direct press, aged 6 months in large oak foudre with lees.

Opens with an abundance of fruit, underripe peaches. Finishes with racing acidity and even a slight but pleasant bitterness, as if the wine desires  to brush up against every taste bud in your mouth.

Julien is the son of dairy farmers. After studying viticulture he chose to forge is own path rather than go down the route taken by most vignerons in Burgundy, at first sourcing vines that others might not want and eventually acquiring his own land. His wines are so well regarded in the natural wine community and highly sought after. Clean, Burgundian wine made naturally.
