This wine comes from Valle d'Aoste, Italy high up in the Italian alps looking up at Mont Blanc. These are among the highest altitude vineyards in all of Europe. The wine is made mainly from a grape called Petit Rouge, with a little Pinot Noir and Gamay and another grape called Gamaret thrown in for good measure. Petite Rouge is a native variety from this area. It's spicy, ethereal, and intoxicatingly aromatic.
