Castello di Verduno Pelverga
Tabula RasaCastello di Verduno is an historic Piemontese estate that makes classic Barolo and Barbaresco from prime vineyard sites in both appellations. Their Basadone is made from 100% Pelaverga, a local varietal that is not used by many producers anymore. The drawing on the label is of a poppy flower, called basadone in the local dialect. Basadone also means "little kiss", a reference to the local belief that the Pelaverga grape is an aphrodisiac. Fresh, herbal, ripe red fruit.
