Josef Fischer took over his family's winery in 2010 as the 5th generation winemaker. Before taking over, Josef traveled the world extensively, learning different vinification styles and methods. The Fischer family vineyards lie on the southern bank of the Danube river with their production focusing mostly on white wines. The family has always had a deep respect for sustainability and the environment. In fact, Josef's father has been engaged in a decades-long passion project of breeding the near-extinct Huchen fish to repopulate the river - truly living up to the family name!
