Martha Stouman's 'Post Flirtation' rosé is a blend of Zinfandel and Vermentino. The Zinfandel gets pressed whole cluster, and is lightly racked into barrel for fermentation. The Vermentino has a bit of skin contact before going into the press, then fermented and aged in neutral barrels on fine lees for 2.5 years. Martha "prefers using barrels for rosé fermentations instead of stainless steel tanks because it softens the wine and creates a welcoming, round body; contrasting many rosés that can be quite angular."
