(90% Gruner Veltliner, 10% an even blend of Welschriesling, Muskat Ottonel, Weissburgunder, Neuburger & Furmint from his organically farmed vyds surrounding Ruster Berg.)

Gemischter Satz is a field blend wine made from several different co-fermented grape varieties. It was originally designed to protect yields and minimise risk during poor harvests. Historically, Gemischter Satz has been associated with heurige wine taverns, where it was and still is drunk as a jug wine, often as a spritzer. However, since 2006 a small group of winemakers has been working hard to transform the image of Gemischter Satz by making and promoting premium field blend wines from the Vienna region’s best vineyard sites. Soft and aromatic, with the perfect punch of acidity for crispness. Hannes' style and winemaking techniques are greatly influenced by his friend and mentor Roland Velich of the Moric estate, with whom he has collaborated closely for more than a decade. Hannes' wines always showcase bright fruit and transparently express the terroir of the villages of Sankt Margarethen, Rust and Zagersdorf.
