What does Tabula Rasa mean?

It's a Latin phrase that translates to Blank Slate or Clean Slate.

Can I bring my kids who are under 21?

No, our bar license only allows guests 21 and over, that means no babies, either. You can, however, bring the whole family to our shop in North Hollywood that has no age restrictions!

Do you accept reservations?

No reservations necessary, just come on in! If you’re hosting a large group of 15 or more- feel free to give us a heads up by emailing meg@tabularasabar.com so that we can best accommodate your group. For space rentals and buy-outs please email meg@tabularasabar.com

Do you have parking?

While Tabula Rasa does not have dedicated parking, street parking is available in the neighborhood but it is limited. We suggest using ride share apps or taking public transit. Closest metro stop: Hollywood/Western Redline

Do you have happy hour?

Yes, we offer one of the best happy hours in town! Come by daily 4pm-6pm for $9 wines, $6 beers, and discounts on food!

Do you have entertainment?

Yes, we are an all vinyl bar! We host DJs every Thursday and live jazz once a month! Check the instagram for our scheduled artists! @tabularasabar

Can I bring a cake?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own celebratory desserts at no charge, we just ask that you bring your own disposable plates, forks, and candles!

What’s Giving Tuesday?

Every Tuesday we partner with local organizations doing important work in our community and donate 5% of sales, rotating partners monthly. 

Do you host pop-ups?

Yes! Check our instagram for upcoming food-pop ups or subscribe to our weekly newsletter to stay in the know. We serve snacks from 2pm-4pm and our full food menu from 4pm-late

What sort of beverages do you serve?

We have a wine and beer only license and focus on small-farmed, natural wines and women run business. In addition to beer and wine we serve sake, vermouth based spritzes, and have a non-alcoholic beverage program.

Can I buy out the bar for a private event?

Who created the mural behind the bar?

The one and only Aaron Koehn. He and his father, master sculptor Norbert Koehn, installed the mural in 2016.
